🌿 Retreat Policies & Important Information
Accessibility & Accommodations
Accessible rooms (ADA-compliant), walk-in showers, small refrigerators, king-size beds, and rooms near elevators are available upon request. Please indicate any special needs on your registration form. Roommate preferences should also be noted.
Children at the Retreat
Children are warmly welcomed and may attend all activities. However, childcare is not provided. Parents or guardians are solely responsible for their children during the retreat.
Meals & Dietary Needs
Eight meals are included with your registration: 3 breakfasts, 2 lunches, and 3 dinners. You will receive a meal ticket to present at each meal. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, sugar-free, and dairy-free options are available. The dining room is closed between meals, but you may bring your own food and beverages; microwaves are available on each floor. We suggest that you also bring bottled drinking water to stay hydrated throughout the day.
Lodging Policies
All lodging, meals, and sessions are held in the historic Lambuth Inn at Lake Junaluska.
- CHECK IN begins at 4 pm on Tuesday 9/16 at the Bethea Welcome Center. If you arrive earlier, you are welcome to explore the grounds.
- If you arrive after 5 pm, please check in at the front desk of the Lambuth Inn Hotel.
- Dinner is served from 5:30 – 700 PM in the Lambuth Dining Hall.
Payments & Deadlines
A minimum 50% deposit is required with your registration. Final balance is due August 25—this is a firm deadline. Payments cannot be accepted at the retreat.
Cancellation Policy
If you cancel between August 12–September 5, you may receive a refund minus a $50 cancellation fee.
Cancellations after September 5 are non-refundable, as UMMAS must pay the retreat center in full by August 30.
Facility Policies
- Smoking is strictly prohibited in all indoor spaces. A $300 cleaning fee will be charged for violations.
- Alcohol is permitted only in your private hotel room.
- Quiet hours are observed from 10 PM to 7 AM daily.
Other Notes
- Commuter rates do not include breakfast.
- Gratuity and taxes are already included in your retreat fees.
- Please bring bottled water or your favorite drinks to stay hydrated throughout the day.
