Come prepared not simply to learn about spiritual awakening\, but to experience it—and perhaps discover the inspired action waiting to emerge through you. \nPRESENTER\nRev. Ellen Barron is a Unity minister serving as Senior Minister of Unity of Raleigh Spiritual Center since August 2020. Her ministry is rooted in spiritual awakening\, love\, and the recognition of our oneness. Through practical\, inclusive teachings grounded in Unity principles\, she inspires people to awaken to their Divine within\, discover their authentic selves\, and live with greater peace\, purpose\, and joy. \nRev. Ellen Barron created and hosts Spiritual Insights for Challenging Times\, a weekly podcast that offers practical spiritual principles and practices for navigating life’s challenges with greater peace\, awareness\, and possibility. Through meaningful conversations with spiritual leaders\, she explores how timeless spiritual wisdom can be applied to everyday life and help us awaken more fully to our divine nature. \nPassionate about building community both within and beyond the church\, Rev. Ellen founded the Unity Holistic Wellness Center in 2022 to expand opportunities for spiritual growth and holistic well-being throughout the region. She also created Interfaith Conversations for Peace and Reconciliation\, bringing together leaders from diverse faith traditions to foster understanding\, dialogue\, and connection with round table discussions. \nBefore coming to Raleigh\, Rev. Ellen served as Director of Youth and Family Ministry at Unity of Fort Myers\, where she also developed an outreach program for at-risk teens living in foster care group homes. She also served as a chaplain at Lee Memorial Hospital\, offering compassionate spiritual support to patients and their families. Throughout her ministry\, Rev. Ellen has been dedicated to creating welcoming\, inclusive communities where people can deepen their spiritual understanding and express it through everyday living.

And some of us are also midwives\, helping to birth this new consciousness.” \nWhat if this is true? Birth can be painful and messy. Gratefully\, we have our Unity tools as we learn and do what is ours to do in this time. \nJoin us to share what’s in our hearts\, respond to where Unity stands on Social Justice\, and learn and grow together. We’ll move through Sacred Circle\, group sharing\, and open conversation. Handouts on Unity’s official stances on social justice will be provided\, along with time to respond and reflect together. \nPRESENTER\nPat began her career in nursing\, specializing in psychiatric nursing\, and later earned a doctorate in clinical psychology. She practices psychotherapy part-time. She attended UUMS\, and was ordained in 2025. She has been called to an alternative ministry in Social Justice. She is the senior minister of the Unity Social Justice Ministry. With the goal of inspiring others to get involved in acts of social justice\, large or small\, she and her ministry team. produce two podcasts a month. The first broadcast is a virtual service\, with meditation\, prayer\, music\, and a message about social justice. The next podcast is a conversation with someone who has “boots on the ground” in an area of social justice. DESCRIPTION:Music\, Meditation\, and Magic!\nDr. Judy Blackwelder and Rev. Denise Yeargin will lead a Closing Ceremony which will include Music\, Meditation\, and Magic.  This is Dr. B and Rev. D’s secret sauce which draws those sharing time with them a space of true love\, joy and peace leading to a grateful heart. \nDuring the closing ceremony we will create magic in the room by singing together\, spending time in the silence together and sharing the gifts we have received during the week. Everyone who attends the closing will receive copies of some of Dr. Judy’s music to share with your beloved communities. \n  \nDr. Judy Blackwelder\n \nDr. Judy Blackwelder was born and grew up in rural West Tennessee where her musical roots were largely anchored in gospel\, bluegrass and blues.   Inspired by her high school band director\, she very quickly knew that working with young people engaged in music ensembles was her passion.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree\, having performed her senior recital on classical guitar\, and began a 39 year teaching career in the public schools. \nJudy’s high school band and choral ensembles excelled and Judy subsequently earned a Masters Degree and PhD in music education\, while teaching marching\, concert\, and jazz band\, music theory\, class piano\, and concert choir and show choir.  Additionally\, she served as a clinician and adjudicator for various regional events. \nJudy started attending a unity church in 1998\, where she met her life partner\, Rev. Denise Yeargin\, and their legacy of building a widely acclaimed music program in a new thought church began.   Under their direction and leadership\, Voices of Unity\, along with some renowned Nashville musicians\, produced three CD’s and were one of the featured performing groups at the 2011 International Unity Conference\, also making an appearance at the Southeast Regional Conference and at various spiritual and civic events throughout the Nashville area.  Along with Rev. Denise\, Dr. Judy is currently in service to Unity of Nashville\, providing music that supports the message each week and enhances the spiritual experience of all involved. \nDr. Judy believes that for many people\, music opens the heart as nothing else can\, and that a singing congregation raises the vibration\, engagement and consciousness of all spiritual communities.   Her original music is sung in many churches throughout the Unity movement each week. \n  \nRev. Denise Yeargin\n \nRev. Denise Yeargin began her New Thought Journey on the back pew of First Church Unity a.k.a. Unity of Nashville.  Rev. D (as her friends and congregants usually call her) says that “Unity not only saved her life\, but the teachings also made her life incredibly abundant with blessings that are too many to count.”  Therefore\, she has been committed to spreading the “Good News” for years in any way she has been able to.  Other than being the Senior Minister of Unity Center for Positive Living a.k.a Unity of Music City\, Denise worked in the community serving on many non-profit boards\, teaching leadership and assisting them in restructuring to better serve those they choose to serve.  Along the way she worked with Pastor Enoch Fuzz in creating the organization ONENASHVILLE which is still in existence today.  This organization brings together all faiths\, all races\, all peoples for the common goal of creating a city that brings us together in oneness.  Denise\, along with her Life Partner Dr. Judy Blackwelder\, began the creation of Nashville Chooses Peace – a weekend event that also drew hundreds of people from across Nashville and surrounding counties to celebrate oneness through Art\, Music\, Healing\, Spirituality and other Magic. \nA native Nashvillian\, Denise has used her time\, talents and treasures to assist many organizations to come together in the name of Peace.    Her undergraduate degree is in Music and Drama from David Lipscomb University\, after which she taught Music and Drama at Ezell Harding Christian School in Antioch\, TN.  Receiving a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Trevecca Nazarene College in 1985\, Denise taught at Trevecca assisting many to become certified to work with students in the Metro Nashville Public Schools.   She worked in the 80’s and 90’s as a Counselor/Psychologist at Tennessee School for the Blind in Donelson\, TN.   During her time there she received an EdS Degree from MTSU which focused on Behavior Development\, Testing and Analysis.  Denise has also worked for Metro Nashville Public Schools as a School Counselor and Testing Coordinator. \nDenise has been published by Unity\, Dream a World\, as well as a contributing editor for Wake Up and Live The Life You Love in Spirit.  She is presently writing a book with her life partner Judy Blackwelder entitled How Do You Get To Happy From Here?  Denise’s greatest love is teaching Universal Principles and working with individuals who are ready to birth something new.  Calling herself a Spiritual Midwife\, Denise says she is  “Assisting in the birth of THE NEW EARTH.”

Miranda Koberg\, CSE serves as the Associate Minister at Unity in Greensboro and the minister for expansion ministry\, Next Generation of Unity. She graduated from Elon University with a B.A. in Religious Studies in 2017\, completed Unity’s Certified Spiritual Educator training with UWM in 2019\, and was ordained in 2024. Christy Snow\, an ordained Science of Mind minister\, has studied world religions and practiced interfaith work since 2005. She was initiated into the Mevlevi Sufi order—Rumi’s lineage—by Shaikhs Kabir & Camille of the Threshold Society in 2006. \nRev. Christy began her ministry in 2005 as co-pastor of the Spiritual Living Center of Charlotte where she served for 10 years. On January 1\, 2018 she founded Awaken Spiritual Community\, where she served until June 29\, 2025. In addition to her music ministry\, Rev. Christy is a sought after spiritual teacher\, coach\, speaker\, and retreat facilitator. DESCRIPTION:2025 continues to produce change in both our personal and professional lives — often unwanted\, sometimes mandatory\, definitely unfamiliar. Our UMMAS time together this morning will be about honoring three powerful invitations that life gives us over and over again: the call to accept change\, the necessity of acknowledging loss\, and the healing that becomes possible when we allow for our feelings. Our objective is to cultivate a deeper connection within you and engage in practices that nourish the soul. \n  \nYour Presenter\n \nRev. Therese Lee has been a Unity Truth Student for 36 years\, a Prayer Chaplain for 24 years and an Ordained Unity Minister for 19 years. She serves the Unity Movement as a coach/mentor\, speaker\, teacher\, consultant on church business practices and retreat leader. \nRev. Therese is captivating\, authentic and audacious. Her personal practices of prayer\, meditation and compassionate service is dedicated to “Working with God.” \nTherese has three children and is Nana to eight grandchildren. She currently is in her ninth year of serving Unity Spiritual Center Hilton Head as their Senior Minister. As a Grief Recovery Method Specialist\, Therese guides others in transforming their lives by accepting change\, acknowledging loss and allowing for healing of feelings. \nRev. Therese’s mission is to Love Out Loud.

DESCRIPTION:Before each keynote presentation\, the Kaleidoscope Music Team invites you into a sacred half-hour of music\, prayer\, meditation\, and a reading of the Daily Word.\nIn the spirit of our retreat theme — Sacred Kaleidoscope: One Turn and Everything Changes — we come together through music\, meditation\, and the spoken word to open hearts and shift perspectives. \nLed by Christy Snow and Dale Worley\, the Kaleidoscope Music Team offers a vibrant blend of both upbeat and meditative music\, carrying us from joyful rhythm into deep stillness. Our retreat band features Mike Davis (keyboard)\, Jim Reed (drums)\, and Sam Laster (lead guitar)\, with Christy on rhythm guitar and Dale on keys. They are joined by our vocal team: Denise Yeargin\, James King\, Beth Boilott\, and Brandon Lee. \nTogether\, we create a living kaleidoscope of sound and spirit\, centering us and opening the way for infinite possibilities.
